Heather grew up in rural Oklahoma. At the age of seven she was critically injured in a motorcycle accident on a nearby country road. The tragic accident claimed the life of her nine year-old brother, Jon. Heather sustained third degree burns spanning 87% of her body, as well as internal damage to her aorta. Doctors calculated a 140% chance of her dying. Defying all odds Heather lived to tell her story; a story about God’s goodness in the midst of storms. In May 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma, and her story continues through her works as a nurse, writer and public speaker. She lives on the land in which she grew up with her husband Brandon and their four children.
Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results. *Anon
